New Product Launch | SANME SMTJ Series Jigs: Coarse and Fine Separation, Reshaping Tailings Resource Utilization Processes
Under the national strategy of "zero-waste city" construction and the resource utilization of bulk solid waste, how to efficiently and economically transform industrial solid waste such as tailings into valuable resources has become a core issue that the industry urgently needs to address. Shanghai SANME Environmental Equipment Co., Ltd., relying on over forty years of experience in crushing, screening, and fine separation technologies, has launched the SMTJ series jigs—gravity separation equipment independently developed and designed for the separation of materials such as metal ores, coal, sand, gravel, and tailings. With its stable pulsating performance, large processing capacity, high separation accuracy, and low failure rate, this series of products is rapidly becoming a star product in the field of comprehensive tailings resource utilization.
Product Overview
The SMTJ series jigs utilize pulsating water flow to separate materials by density. The equipment generates a periodic pulsating water flow, causing materials to stratify according to density and particle size: denser heavy mineral particles settle to the lower layer, while less dense gangue particles float to the upper layer. Through continuous feeding, water pulsation, and a discharge mechanism, heavy mineral concentrate and light mineral tailings are discharged separately, completing the separation process. The entire process uses water as the medium, requiring no chemical reagents, making it a clean physical mineral processing technology that fully complies with national green manufacturing requirements.
Core Advantages
The SMTJ series jig has the following outstanding advantages:
1. Stable pulsation performance, high separation accuracy, good material stratification effect, high concentrate recovery rate, and precise tailings grade control.
2. Large processing capacity and low energy consumption. High single-unit processing capacity, with unit energy consumption at a low level in the industry; simple operation and convenient maintenance.
3. Compact structure and small footprint. Suitable for both fixed concentrators and mobile sorting stations, facilitating modular deployment.
4. Wide Applicability: Adaptable to the fine separation of various metallic and non-metallic ores and materials of different particle sizes.
5. Low Failure Rate and Long Service Life: Key flow components are made of high-strength wear-resistant materials, ensuring long-term stable operation and reducing customer maintenance costs.

Main Models
To meet the separation needs of materials of different particle sizes, Shanghai SANME has developed two main models: the SMTJ50C coarse separation jig and the SMTJ25X fine separation jig, forming an optimal combination of "coarse separation + fine separation" collaborative operation. Both can be used independently or connected in series to form a tiered separation process: the coarse separation jig first separates large, high-grade minerals, and the fine separation jig then performs secondary extraction on the undersize fines, thereby maximizing the overall recovery rate of iron ore.
Equipment Application

Benchmark Application
The true value of product technology lies in its practical application. The Hainan Changjiang 6 million-ton iron tailings comprehensive recycling project, undertaken by Shanghai SANME Corporation, is a key solid waste resource utilization demonstration project promoted by Hainan Province and one of the first 44 solid waste comprehensive utilization bases in China. In this project, Shanghai SANME Corporation's SMTJ series jigs are the core sorting equipment, with a total of 36 units deployed:
24 SMTJ50C roughing jigs: responsible for the roughing of 8-36 mm coarse-grained tailings, with a single unit processing capacity of 50 t/h, forming a powerful roughing cluster.
12 SMTJ25X fine sorting jigs: responsible for the fine sorting of 0-8 mm fine-grained materials, further extracting fine-grained iron minerals.

Full-Chain Service: Forging a Model of Circular Economy
As the EPC general contractor for the project, Shanghai SANME provided not only 36 SMTJ jigs, but also a complete "turnkey" service covering the entire chain from process design, equipment manufacturing, complete set supply, installation and commissioning to intelligent system integration. The entire production line encompasses a complete set of equipment including jaw crushers, cone crushers, vertical shaft impact crushers, double-roll crushers, jigs, ball mills, magnetic separators, filter presses, and wastewater treatment systems. Equipped with a customized intelligent control system, it achieves fully automated, digitalized, and modular production, meeting high standards of industrialization, greening, and intelligence.
From product development to practical application, Shanghai SANME's SMTJ series jigs have withstood large-scale practical testing in the Hainan Changjiang 6 million tons iron tailings project, proving their core strength as mining crushing and screening equipment. In the future, Shanghai SANME will continue to rely on Sino-German technological expertise to fully develop a modern demonstration mine that is both green and intelligent, with more advanced separation equipment and more comprehensive solutions.
